Lieutenant Brad Traylor
Lieutenant Brad Traylor is a native of Jasper Indiana and moved to Evansville in 1988 to attend the University of Southern Indiana on a cross country scholarship. Lt. Traylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and began to pursue a career in law enforcement. He was sworn in as a Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputy in December 1995 and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1996. At the start of his career, Lt. Traylor worked all shifts as a patrol deputy and a transport deputy. In May 2011, Lt Traylor was promoted to Sergeant, serving as a patrol supervisor and as a courts security supervisor. In June of 2018, he was promoted to Lieutenant and currently serves as an Assistant Jail Commander at the Sheriff’s confinement center. In his 23 years serving the community, Lt. Traylor has received two Sheriff’s Lifesaver Awards, and an Indiana State Policy Lifesaver Award. Lt. Traylor is also a founding member of the Sheriff’s Honor Guard, representing the Sheriff’s Office in ceremonial functions. Lt. Traylor enjoys jogging, traveling, and spending time with his family.
