Lieutenant Kerri Blessinger

Lieutenant Kerri Blessinger was raised in Ferdinand, Indiana and graduated from Forest Park High School in 1994. She attended Ball State University and the University of Southern Indiana earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1999. Lieutenant Blessinger began her career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2001 as a Merit Deputy Sheriff. She worked the Patrol section and Court Security section until 2009. She then served in the Criminal Investigations section as a Detective, specializing in domestic violence and crimes against children.

Lieutenant Blessinger was promoted to Sergeant in 2015 and served in Court Security as well as Patrol until returning to Criminal Investigations in 2017. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2019, she is currently assigned to the Confinement Division and serving as the 2nd shift Assistant Jail Commander.

Lieutenant Blessinger is a certified Law Enforcement Academy Instructor, certified child Forensic Interviewer, and certified Crisis Negotiator. She also works with the Ark Crisis Care Center by coordinating the annual “Christmas with Kids” Shopping Experience. Lieutenant Blessinger is a member of the Peer Support Team within the agency and assists with training with the Indiana Drug Enforcement Association.

Outside of her duties at the Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Blessinger enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as anything outdoors. She especially enjoys hiking with her dogs. Lieutenant Blessinger also volunteers for several community organizations including Albion Fellows Bacon Center and St. Benedict’s Church.
