Inmates who have been arrested on new charges will either appear in court or be seen by a judge within 72 hours of the arrest in the following courts:

  • Misdemeanor arrests will appear at approximately 8:30 AM in video court. Video court is a satellite courtroom located within the Vanderburgh County Jail. The inmate appears via video conferencing link before the judge and court personnel who are in the Misdemeanor and Traffic Court Room at the Vanderburgh County Courts Building.
  • Felony arrests assigned to Superior Court will appear at approximately 9:30 AM in video court. Video court is a satellite courtroom located within the Vanderburgh County Jail. The inmate appears via video conferencing link before the judge and court personnel who are in the Division II Court Room at the Vanderburgh County Courts Building.
  • Felony arrests assigned to Circuit Court will appear at approximately 1:30 PM in video court. Video court is a satellite courtroom located within the Vanderburgh County Jail.  The inmate appears via video conferencing link before the judge and court personnel who are in the Circuit Court Room at the Vanderburgh County Courts Building.
  • Juvenile court matters are heard at approximately 9:30 AM in the Juvenile Courts Building located at the Evansville/Vanderburgh County Civic Center located at 1 NW Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in downtown Evansville.
  • Inmates who are attending Petition to Revoke (PTR) Court attend court on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Inmates who are having their probation revoked and who are attending a PTR hearing generally attend in person at the Vanderburgh County Courts Building.

The above times are general and are subject to change based upon court requirements.

Inmates with regular matters, beyond initial hearings, appear as the court calendar allows. If you have specific questions about an inmate’s court case, you should direct those to the inmate’s attorney or the court hearing the case.
