SUBJECT: Deputies pursue stolen vehicle

Deputies received information of a stolen vehicle north bound on Hwy 41 near Washington Ave. When the vehicle was located the driver immediately fled west bound on Washington Ave with deputies and an Indiana State trooper in pursuit. The suspect went south on Evans Ave, pulled over and fled the vehicle on foot. The suspect did not put the stolen vehicle in park and it rolled forward hitting and causing minor damage to a Sheriff’s deputies vehicle. Deputies , along with Evansville Police officers set up a perimeter of the area in an attempt to locate the subject. During the search deputies used a drone and a k9, but were unable to locate the suspect. The vehicle was taken to the Vanderburgh County sheriff’s crime scene garage to be processed for evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
