SUBJECT: Fatal Crash – W. Diamond Ave/St. Joseph Rd.

On August 11, 2014 at 9:15 pm the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Diamond Ave. and St. Joseph Rd.
The initial investigation indicated that a white 2001 Ford Focus was crossing W. Diamond Ave from northbound St. Joseph Rd. when it was struck by a black 2004 Ford F250 traveling eastbound on W. Diamond Ave. The F250 struck the driver’s side door of the white Focus pushing it into the median. The F250 continued through the median and into the westbound lanes of W. Diamond Ave. where it came to rest.
The driver of the Ford F250, Mr. Seth W. Finke, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for complaint of pain. The driver of the Ford Focus, Ms. Ola B. Cole, was deceased on scene. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this crash.
