On Friday, July 04, 2014 at 3:42pm Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 65, just south of Weiss Road. An orange 2006 custom motorcycle had been traveling south on State Road 65 before leaving the west side of the roadway for an unknown reason and striking a guard rail.

The driver of the motorcycle, Mr. Jeffrey Stevens, was ejected and landed in the roadway. While on scene deputies assisted the German Township Fire Department in rendering aid to Stevens. Deputy Bryan Bishop used a tourniquet on Stevens’ leg to stop substantial blood loss.

Stevens was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Life Flight helicopter. At this time alcohol and/or drugs are not considered a factor in the crash. Stevens was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
