Motorcycle Crash Resulting in Injury

On Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 3:56 pm deputies responded to the area of East Boonville-New Harmony Road near Gilles Lane upon receiving a report of a crash involving a motorcycle. A witness on scene told deputies the motorcycle had been traveling east bound on East Boonville-New Harmony Road when the driver encountered a curve in the roadway near Gilles Lane. The motorcycle reportedly crossed the center line, entered the westbound lane and then left the roadway striking a guardrail. The driver was wearing a helmet, but the presence of possible internal injuries necessitated her being airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
