SUBJECT: Wanted Felon who fled from Deputies arrested in Panama City Beach, Florida
RELEASE NUMBER: 2023-NR-0922
CONTACT: Major Matt Corn
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson
On September 19th, at approximately 3:08 PM, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the United States Marshal’s Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Sebastian Scott Buckingham in the area of North U.S. Highway 41 and Washington Avenue. Task Force Officers knew Buckingham to have an active Felony Petition to Revoke Probation warrant as well as an active Felony Parole Warrant. Rather than stopping the Buckingham fled in the vehicle eastbound on Washington Avenue and struck a marked Sheriff’s Office SUV in the process causing minor damage. Deputies pursued the suspect until the area of Washington Avenue and Vann Avenue. Deputies then terminated the pursuit due to the speeds in which the suspect was driving and losing sight of the suspect. The pursuit lasted approximately one minute.
On September 21st the local United States Marshal’s Task Force determined that Buckingham may be in the area of Panama City Beach, Florida. The United States Marshal’s Task Force located in that area of Florida was made aware, and took Buckingham into custody without further incident. Buckingham is now awaiting extradition to Vanderburgh County.
