SUBJECT: Deputies Locate Domestic Violence Suspect
RELEASE NUMBER: 2024-NR-0522
CONTACT: Major Matt Corn
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson
On May 23, at approximately 1057 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the 4500 block on Emma Dr in reference to a domestic violence in progress. A female victim was located by deputies that claimed to have been assaulted and held against her will by her boyfriend, Kenneth Myers. Deputies unsuccessfully attempted to make contact with the Mr. Myers at a nearby residence. A search warrant was later executed at the residence and deputies found he had fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies.
The Criminal Investigations Section began processing the scene and collecting evidence which included video evidence from inside the home. Detectives found the video evidence collected at the scene conflicted with several statements made by the victim. Shortly after the scene was processed, deputies located Kenneth Myers, on foot in a subdivision adjacent to the Emma Drive address. Mr. Myers was detained by deputies for questioning and he was cooperative with detectives during their investigation. Mr. Myers also provided information to detectives that conflicted with statements made by the victim at the scene. Mr. Myers statement was then corroborated with video evidence from inside the home where the domestic violence incident occurred. As a result, Mr. Myers is no longer a domestic violence suspect in this case and was released; however, this incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and charges should be expected at a later time.
