DATE: December 14, 2024
SUBJECT: Deputies Arrest Man for Attempted Murder after Stabbing
RELEASE NUMBER: 2024-NR-1214
CONTACT: Lt. Doug Daza
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 7:50 PM, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Deaconess Midtown Hospital. A male caller had contacted Central Dispatch, advising that he had been stabbed. Deputies responded to both the hospital and the 3500 block of North St. Joseph Avenue, where the stabbing was believed to have occurred. Detectives were notified and began an investigation.

The property on St. Joseph Avenue was secured, and a search warrant was obtained to process the scene and recover any evidence. Several individuals present during the incident were located at the property. None of them were cooperative and denied witnessing anything. The property appeared to be a clubhouse for the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club.

A potential suspect, Everett Julian Wade Jr., also known as “Dunner,” was located and transported to the Sheriff’s Operations Center for an interview. It is believed that Wade is a member of the Grim Reapers, although the victim is not associated with the club.

The victim suffered what appeared to be a stab wound to the upper left chest. He did not cooperate with medical staff, and after speaking with a detective, he left the hospital without receiving treatment for his open wound. The victim later spoke with detectives, stating that while sitting in the clubhouse, he was jumped and beaten by several males, and then stabbed by a man he knew as “Dunner.” The victim’s description of “Dunner” matched that of Wade, who confirmed the nickname, stating it was what his mother always called him. Wade had what appeared to be blood on his clothing and hands.

The victim was unable to name or describe the other males who allegedly attacked him. He also told detectives that he did not know why he was attacked.

A search of the clubhouse resulted in the seizure of several knives. It appeared that the scene had been cleaned prior to deputies’ arrival and the securing of the property.

Wade declined to speak with detectives. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. Wade was placed in the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he will be held without bond until his court appearance.
