SUBJECT: Deputies locate Missing Alabama Teen During Traffic Stop

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 9:08 AM, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a “Be On the Lookout” (BOL) notice regarding a missing female juvenile from Albertville, Alabama. The juvenile was believed to be possibly traveling through Vanderburgh County.
Deputies located the vehicle described in the BOL traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 41. A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Volkman Road. Inside the vehicle, deputies found the missing female juvenile, a male juvenile, and an adult male identified as Pedro Rodrigo Sebastian Mateo.
Mateo had an outstanding felony warrant issued by authorities in Albertville, Alabama, related to his involvement with the missing juvenile. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail pending extradition to Alabama.
