SUBJECT: Deputies pursue stolen vehicle

While on patrol in the area of Stringtown Rd. and Cardinal Dr. deputies located a stolen 2009 Nissan Altima. The driver of the vehicle fled from deputies when they tried to conduct a traffic stop. The pursuit lasted about two minutes and ended when the driver lost control and crashed into a fence at Locust Hill cemetery. The driver then fled on foot through the cemetery. Deputies along with officers from the Evansville Police Department set up a perimeter to conduct a search for the suspect. A Sheriff’s Office K9 team began the search along with a drone from Evansville Police. The suspect was located after about an hour hiding in an unlocked vehicle . The suspect was ordered out the the vehicle but continued  to resist officers until he was placed into handcuffs.

The suspect, identified as 23 year old Isaiah Adams, of Evansville was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. His charges include: 2 counts of resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license as well as a felony warrant for robbery and theft.
