AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson

On January 24, 2026, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to North High School, located at 15331 N. U.S. Highway 41, in reference to a crash involving injuries.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that two juveniles had been injured after being pulled across a snow-covered parking lot while riding on a tabletop that was being towed by a vehicle. Deputies observed that one injured juvenile, age 17, sustained an apparent leg injury and a possible head injury. The second injured juvenile, age 16, appeared to have suffered a head injury and displayed symptoms consistent with a possible seizure prior to the arrival of medical personnel.

The Vanderburgh County Fire Department responded to the scene and transported both injured juveniles to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies are investigating the incident as a Serious Bodily Injury Accident. In accordance with Indiana law regarding serious bodily injury crashes, the driver of the involved vehicle consented to a blood draw.

Additional charges may be filed pending the results of the investigation.

Due to the ages of those involved, no additional identifying information will be released at this time.
