SUBJECT: Deputies Respond to Single Vehicle Fatality Crash

On Tuesday, December 26th at 1400 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the area of US Hwy 41 and
Waterworks Rd. in reference to an accident with unknown injuries. Dispatch received several calls in reference to the crash with conflicting locations and both the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and Evansville Police Department responded to the scene. An officer with the Evansville Police Department was able to locate the single vehicle crash on US Hwy 41 approximately one hundred feet South of Waterworks Rd.
The Evansville Fire Department also responded to the scene and assisted by extricating the driver from the vehicle. A short time later, the driver and only occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased. During the investigation, deputies determined the driver was traveling South on Hwy 41 before the vehicle left the roadway, entered the median, and came to rest on its roof.
The crash investigation for this incident is ongoing and Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later time.
