RELEASE NUMBER: 2026-NR-0308
CONTACT: Major Matt Corn
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson
Deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to an early morning disturbance at Burdette Park that resulted in the arrests of multiple individuals.
On March 8, 2026, at approximately 4:21 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Burdette Park, 5301 Nurrenbern Road, in reference to an assault in progress after a caller reported that a fight had broken out at one of the park cabins.
While responding, a supervisor observed a vehicle associated with individuals involved in the disturbance traveling on Broadway Avenue and later pulling into a gas station in the 1400 block of Delmar Avenue. Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and detained Colin Minton and Kyle Fravel while the investigation continued.
Deputies responded to the cabin area at Burdette Park and spoke with several individuals who had been present at a gathering. Witnesses reported that an argument escalated into a physical altercation during which Minton allegedly struck and injured another person.
During the investigation, deputies also identified Shane Hendrix as another individual involved in the incident. Deputies later located Hendrix and conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle.
During an interview with deputies, Hendrix admitted to brandishing a firearm during the altercation and later firing the weapon into the air outside the cabin area while other people were nearby. While being processed at the jail, deputies located a folded dollar bill containing approximately one gram of a white powdery substance in Hendrix’s pocket. The substance field-tested positive for cocaine, and Hendrix admitted it was cocaine.
During the investigation, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle associated with Fravel after a K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. Deputies located two bags containing a green leafy substance underneath the driver’s seat. The substances were tested and weighed, with one bag weighing approximately 7.3 grams and the other approximately 1.4 grams. Both tested positive for THC.
Following the investigation, Colin Minton, Kyle Fravel, and Shane Hendrix were arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing and more arrests are possible.
