On Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 at 5:52PM, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 2300-BLK of S Red Bank Rd for an assault in progress where a victim had been held against her will. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim, who had fled the scene to a nearby residence and was no longer in danger.

Deputies conducted an investigation and determined that they had probable cause to arrest a subject for multiple offenses and also determined that the subject may be armed. Deputies attempted to get the suspect to comply and surrender, however, he refused. A brief stand-off ensued.

A case file will be prepared and forwarded to the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant. This investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are expected.
