Evansville Man Arrested for Child Exploitation

DATE: June 5, 2025
SUBJECT: Evansville Man Arrested for Child Exploitation
RELEASE NUMBER: 2025-NR-0605
CONTACT: Lt. Doug Daza
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Evansville man on felony charges related to child pornography and the online solicitation of minors for sexual acts.

Christopher William Evans, 42, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Office detectives following a months long investigation. He has been charged with Child Exploitation, Possession of Child Pornography, and Child Solicitation, all Level 5 Felony offenses.

The investigation began in February 2025 when detectives assigned to the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip identified an IP address associated with the Kik Messenger service that had been used to distribute suspected child sexual abuse material, including explicit images of adult males engaging in sexual acts with prepubescent females. Detectives obtained subpoenas to identify the subscriber of the IP address, which was traced to Evans. Additional cybertips were received containing similar material, which were also linked to him.

After further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Evans’ residence in Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park. Earlier today, detectives executed the warrant and took Evans into custody without incident. Multiple electronic devices were seized and will undergo forensic examination by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensics Lab.

Upon being detained and informed of the nature of the investigation, Evans stated, “It was me.” He was transported to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Operations Center, where he provided a statement admitting to downloading and distributing child pornography. He also admitted to using Kik Messenger to solicit sexual acts from minors but claimed he never followed through.

Sheriff Noah Robinson stated, “Every time someone downloads or shares child pornography, they are directly fueling the demand for the abuse and exploitation of children. Arresting individuals who possess this material is critical, not just to hold offenders accountable, but to disrupt the cycle of victimization.”

Evans was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and is being held without bond pending a court hearing.
