The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office routinely recruits veterans to fill its ranks and supports the efforts of the INESGR and IMSC to assist our military veterans. The Sheriff’s Office (as well as all other county offices and departments) awards preference points to eligible armed forces veterans who are being considered for full time employment. Sheriff Dave Wedding stated, “My experience with the veterans our office employs has been overwhelmingly positive. Newly hired veterans start day one with a mission oriented mindset, a respect for the importance of procedure, and the ability to perform under pressure.”
