SUBJECT: Juvenile Pedestrian Injured in Crash Involving School Bus

On September 01, 2026, at approximately 2:57 PM, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and McCutchanville Fire Department responded to the 5900 block of North Saint Joseph Avenue for a crash involving an Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) school bus and a juvenile pedestrian. The bus had been turning around in a parking lot within Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park at the time of the collision.
The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Students were aboard the bus at the time, none of whom were injured. The bus driver remained on scene and cooperated with deputies.
Because the crash involved serious bodily injury, a Sheriff’s Office crash reconstructionist responded to the scene. As required by Indiana law, the bus driver submitted to a chemical test. Those results are pending, and at this time there is no indication that impairment was a factor.
The crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
