The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force have arrested a residential burglar being sought by the Evansville Police Department.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 3:30pm sheriff’s deputies located Mr. Derrick Rhoades at a residence in the 3700 block of Atlanta Court at Dalehaven Estates.  After deputies and task force officers surrounded the apartment, Mr. Rhoades leapt from a second story window and began to flee on foot. Mr. Rhoades was quickly apprehended by Sheriff’s Office K9 “Bosko”.  Mr. Rhoades was taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center.

Mr. Rhoades was being sought by the Evansville Police Department for the recent burglary of a residence in the Akin Park area of Evansville. Evansville Police Department detectives developed sufficient evidence during their investigation of the burglary to obtain an arrest warrant for Mr. Rhoades.

Mr. Rhoades is currently being held on $20,000 cash bond.
