SUBJECT: Overnight Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest

On August 26, 2026, at approximately 12:35 a.m., Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office deputies began an investigation in the 5400 block of East Indiana Street. When deputies arrived, they observed a female near a dumpster who immediately ran to the driver’s seat of a nearby vehicle. The female appeared unsteady on her feet and was acting erratically.
Deputies approached the vehicle and identified the female as Latasha Mosley. While speaking with Mosley, deputies observed several signs of possible impairment. Deputies asked Mosley to exit the vehicle. She initially stepped partially out of the vehicle before sitting back down in the driver’s seat and refusing to exit. When deputies again instructed her to exit, Mosley placed the vehicle in drive and pulled away from a deputy who was attempting to remove her from the vehicle. Mosley then accelerated away from the scene at a high rate of speed.
Deputies pursued the vehicle through Vanderburgh County and into Warrick County as Mosley continued to drive at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for deputies. The pursuit continued for approximately 12 miles before the vehicle came to a stop. There was little to no traffic on the roadway during the pursuit.
After the vehicle stopped, deputies gave commands for the occupants to exit. Mosley initially refused to comply and continued moving around inside the vehicle before eventually exiting and being taken into custody.
During the investigation, deputies located a small amount of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The suspected marijuana was later tested and produced a positive field test for THC.
Mosley was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. While at the hospital, she agreed to provide a certified chemical test. Blood samples were collected and submitted for testing.
During a subsequent interview, Mosley admitted she knew deputies were attempting to stop her but continued to flee. She also admitted to throwing items from the vehicle during the pursuit and stated she had swallowed approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine prior to the pursuit.
Mosley remains admitted to an area hospital for treatment and will be transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail upon receiving medical clearance.
