On March 29th, 2025, at approximately 12:27 AM, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies, Perry Township Firefighters, and AMR Paramedics were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train near the intersection of N. Peerless Rd/Upper Mount Vernon Rd.

First responders arrived on scene and located an injured subject that was conscious and breathing approximately 300 feet from the locomotive. The individual was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement personnel remained on-site for several hours to process and document the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
