SUBJECT: Sex Offender Verification Detail Completed Before Halloween

In preparation for Halloween, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office conducted a countywide compliance operation focused on registered sex and violent offenders. The initiative was aimed at ensuring offenders remain in full compliance with state registration laws and enhancing public safety during the holiday.
Throughout the day, deputies visited the registered homes and workplaces of offenders to verify addresses, employment, and other registry information. In some cases, deputies interviewed household members to confirm the registrant’s residence and compliance.
Verification Results:
- Total Attempted Sex Offender Verifications: 180
- Verified Offenders: 145
- Pending Verifications: 29
- Felony Arrests: 2
- Misdemeanor Arrests: 1
- Active Investigations: 4
- Failure to Register Reports: 2
Sheriff Noah Robinson stated, “The safety of our residents is always the priority. These checks help reassure the community that the Sheriff’s Office is actively monitoring offenders and taking every precaution to keep families protected.”
