Sheriff Dave Wedding got the chance to pay his respects to a group of World War II veterans this past Sunday.

Seventy veterans took part in the Indy Honor Flight this past Saturday, departing Evansville Regional Airport for Washington, D.C. The veterans toured the World War II memorial and met with supporters and admirers. The veterans then returned home Sunday to a hero’s welcome at the airport.

Indy Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created solely to honor Indiana’s veterans. Indy Honor Flight transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials.
