SUBJECT: House Fire Investigation

Earlier this morning, emergency personnel were dispatched to 7144 Wright Drive in Vanderburgh County to investigate a house fire.
Upon arrival, deputies found three of the four occupants of the residence with one unaccounted for. Deputies were unable to make entry into the home due to the intensity of the fire.
A body, unidentifiable at the scene, was recovered from the burned structure and removed by the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office. The Coroner will conduct an autopsy on Monday to establish the cause of death and the identity of the victim.
The scene is considered a crime scene at this time and the fire is being treated as suspicious. Investigators beleive it is likely have been intentionally set. Based on the preliminary investigation by deputies, there is reason to believe that the victim of the fire may also be a suspect in starting the fire.
The investigation is ongoing and no other details are available at this time.
