SUBJECT: Two Arrested for Dealing Cocaine

Detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force began receiving information in September 2025 indicating that Ramiro Chapa Jr. was distributing cocaine in the Evansville area. Detectives initiated an investigation utilizing physical and electronic surveillance, along with other investigative methods.
On November 3, 2025, detectives obtained a judicially signed search warrant for Chapa’s residence in the 600 block of East Florida Street. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 73 grams of suspected cocaine, 247 grams of suspected marijuana, and multiple digital scales.
During the search, Candido Cervantes-Trejo was also found to be residing at the home with Chapa. Both individuals were arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Evansville Police Department and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. They were assisted in this investigation by the Evansville Police Department Street Crimes Unit, the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Indiana State Police.
