On Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 0900 hours the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony in the ballroom of the Old Courthouse located at 201 NW 4th Street in order to recognize the accomplishments of its personnel.
Several deputies along with officers from outside agencies were awarded the Sheriff’s Commendation Award, Sheriff’s Distinguished Service Award, and Sheriff’s Appreciation Award for their actions in taking escaped Alabama inmate and murder suspect Casey White into custody on May 09, 2022. Additionally, other members of the Office were recognized for their promotion in rank or for their efforts in preserving the lives of Vanderburgh County citizens.
The following jail officers were recognized:
- SSgt. Tim Woods – Promotion to jail Staff Sergeant
- SSgt. Jeff Cobb – Promotion to jail Staff Sergeant
- Sgt. Bernard Boots – Promotion to Sergeant
- Sgt. Drew Hicks – Promotion to Sergeant
The following sheriff’s deputies were recognized.
