SUBJECT: Evansville Man Tragically Killed While Trying to Move Vehicle
RELEASE NUMBER: 2019-NR-013
CONTACT: Lieutenant Mark Rasure
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Dave Wedding

Shortly before 7 PM on Thursday evening emergency medical personnel and deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 600 block of Jobes Lane regarding the report of a person trapped beneath a vehicle. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and discovered that a man was pinned beneath a Ford F-150 pick-up truck in the yard. Emergency personnel worked to free the man; however, he was unable to be resuscitated once the truck was removed. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The subsequent investigation determined that the vehicle toppled the man as it slid down an embankment after falling from the floor jack that he was using to help move his vehicle from the yard to the driveway. The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased.
