On Wednesday, October 05, 2016 at approximately 2:00 pm sheriff’s deputies and Evansville police officers assigned to the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Joint Drug Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be carrying a shipment of crystal methamphetamine.

A black Audi A6 being operated by Kayla Mangold was signaled to stop at E. Virginia Avenue and Cross Pointe Boulevard after leaving a nearby hotel. The vehicle fled towards N. Burkhardt Road and then drove north towards Oak Grove Road.

During the pursuit, Ms. Mangold threw two handguns out of the vehicle. The vehicle stopped in the area of Oak Grove Road and N. Royal Avenue. Ms. Mangold and two passengers (Mr. Roshard Davidson and Mr. Jordan Byrd) were taken into custody.

A search of the suspects, the vehicle and a hotel room that Ms. Mangold had rented resulted in the seizure of nearly 9,000 dollars, over 38 grams of crystal methamphetamine and four handguns.

Later that same afternoon, sheriff’s deputies assigned the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Joint Drug Task Force attempted to stop a black GMC Yukon on I-69 north of Lynch Road. The driver, later identified as Mr. Jabbar Davis, fled south on I-69.

After a being blocked at the Lynch Road exit, Mr. Davis rolled his window up and refused to exit his vehicle. Deputies attempted to remove him, but Mr. Davis struggled and had to be forced to the ground and handcuffed. A search of the vehicle revealed over 10 pounds of marijuana.

Kayla Dawn Mangold (pictured above), 26, of Evansville. Carrying a Handgun without a License as a Level 5 Felony, Dealing Methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement as a Level 6 Felony, Probation Revocation Warrant (Warrick County)

Roshard Davidson (pictured above), 19, of Roswell, Georgia. Dealing Methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony

Jordan Deaunte Byrd (pictured above), 24, of Chandler, Indiana. Dealing Methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon as a Level 4 Felony

Jabbar Lenwa Davis (pictured above), 41, of Evansville. Resisting Law Enforcement as a Level 6 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement as a Class A Misdemeanor, Dealing Marijuana as a Level 5 Felony
