On Wednesday, August 03, 2016 at 3:30pm the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Evansville Lutheran School teacher on charges of Child Solicitation.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section began an investigation on July 28, 2016 after the parent of a 14-year-old girl reported observing inappropriate text messages on his daughter’s cellular phone. The phone was examined and numerous instances sexually explicit material were found. The texts were determined to have originated from Mr. David Robert Burant, a teacher at Evansville Lutheran School.

The texts began in May of 2016 and escalated into an exchange of graphic and sexual depictions of both Mr. Burant and the victim. On August 03, 2016 Mr. Burant was interviewed and implicated himself.

Mr. Burant is currently lodged at the Vanderburgh County Jail with no bond.
