The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after responding to a report of a burglary at Dove Chapel Full Gospel Baptist Church located at 4420 Nurrenbern Road.

On Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 9:40 A.M. Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call from Dove Chapel indicating that a staff member had discovered broken windows and disturbed items inside the church. Sheriff’s deputies entered the building and encountered a suspect in the rear of the church. The suspect claimed to be “Jesus Christ” and then retreated into an adjacent room.

The initial responding deputies exercised caution and requested additional units to respond, which included a K-9 team. After repeated warnings the suspect still refused to surrender. A K-9 was deployed and the suspect sustained a bite on his left leg. The suspect was taken into custody and later identified as Mr. Jeremy Edward Davis of Evansville.

Mr. Davis was transported to the hospital for treatment prior to being booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Jeremy Edward Davis (pictured above), 35, of Evansville, IN. Commercial Burglary as a Level 5 Felony, Institutional Criminal Mischief as a Level 5 Felony, Theft as a Class A Misdemeanor.
