Sheriff’s Office Investigating Death of Infant

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an infant. At 2:27am Sheriff’s deputies and McCutchanville Volunteer Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 6018 Locust Drive in Westbrook Trailer Park upon report of an infant that was not breathing. The infant was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced dead. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The Department of Child Services has also been contacted as is standard in a death involving a child. Both parents are currently being questioned by Sheriff’s Office detectives.
