On Monday, August 11, 2014 at 1:12 pm the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and Perry Township Fire Department were dispatched to the 2900 block of N. Red Bank Road near Booker Road in reference to a pickup truck which had struck a tree.

An initial investigation indicated that Mr. Quayde N. Kelly had been southbound on N. Red Bank Road when he lost control of a blue 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup truck and struck a tree on the east side of the roadway. The primary impact was concentrated on the passenger side of the truck.

Mr. Kelly was transported to Deaconess Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Ms. Alexandrea P. Wilhite was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained serious bodily injuries. Ms. Wilhite was transported to Deaconess Hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this crash.
