AUTHORITY: Sheriff Dave Wedding
On Sunday, 12-11-2022, at 3:46 AM, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of Upper Mount Vernon Road and Boehne Camp Road in reference to a single-vehicle accident.
Deputies arrived on scene and located a Nissan Titan pickup truck on the side of the roadway with the
driver trapped inside of the vehicle. Deputies and the Perry Township Fire Department attempted life
saving measures, but were unsuccessful. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
It appeared the Nissan Titan was traveling west on Upper Mount Vernon Road at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, and was pinned against a tree. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this accident. The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the driver at a later time.
