AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson
On April 17th at 10:03 AM, Deputies were initially dispatched to 7515 Hogue Rd. for a stolen vehicle report. Upon arrival, however, Deputies discovered a felony domestic violence incident had occurred between a male and female at the home and the suspect, later identified as Jakob Causey, had fled the scene on foot.
Deputies obtained a description of the suspect and searched the area utilizing a Sheriff K9 Unit and a Drone or Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) Team from the Evansville Police Department (EPD) for approximately two hours. After an extensive search of the woods and surrounding neighborhoods, however, deputies were unable to locate Causey. During the search of the area, several nearby schools were secured as a precaution.
At 2:07 PM, a concerned caller contacted Evansville Central Dispatch and advised he had spotted a suspicious subject in the area of Wolf Creek Ct. that matched the description of deputies’ earlier domestic violence suspect (Causey) from 7515 Hogue Rd. The 911 caller stated he had read a possible description of the suspect earlier on Evansville Watch. Upon deputies arrival in the area of Wolf Creek Ct., a male subject was located and later determined to be the suspect, Jacob Causey. He was taken into custody by deputies without further incident.
Causey was arrested and transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he was booked on multiple felony charges. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Evansville Police Department as well as the 911 caller for their assistance in this investigation.
