SUBJECT: Road Rage leads to Felony Arrest

At approximately 7:20 AM on August 8, 2025, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Be On the Lookout (BOL) alert following a report of a road rage incident involving a firearm.
The incident began near Highway 41 and Morgan Avenue. According to the victim, he pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by Zachary Scott Vogt Gibson. In response, Gibson reportedly began honking his horn, flashing his headlights, and tailgating the victim. During the encounter, Gibson allegedly displayed a handgun toward the victim.
Deputies located and stopped Gibson’s vehicle on Highway 41 near Inglefield Road. A firearm was recovered from the vehicle, and Gibson was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail and booked on the following preliminary charges:
- Intimidation with a firearm (Level 5 felony)
- Following too closely (traffic violation)
Arrested: Zachary Scott Vogt Gibson , 30 years old of Evansville
