Deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest following a reckless driving incident that endangered construction workers on Darmstadt Road.

On December 12, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a road construction zone in the 12500 block of Darmstadt Road after receiving reports of a reckless driver. Construction workers advised that traffic had been stopped when a silver Chevrolet Camaro disregarded a flagger’s stop sign, drove around the flagger, and struck the sign with the vehicle’s front bumper. The vehicle then accelerated through the construction zone at a high rate of speed, nearly striking a worker.

Construction workers estimated the vehicle was traveling approximately 70 miles per hour as it passed through the construction zone. Witnesses also reported that the driver lowered the driver’s side window and yelled profanities at the construction crew while speeding away.

During the investigation, detectives utilized the Flock Safety license plate recognition system to assist in identifying the vehicle involved in the incident. Additionally, a photographic lineup was later presented to witnesses, who positively identified the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Cynthia Waters was arrested and charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 6 Felony.
