At 4:54 AM on August 24, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Heritage Federal Credit Union at 5343 Pearl Drive for a hold-up alarm. Upon arrival, deputies found an abandoned Ford pick-up truck that had been used to pull the credit union’s ATM off the pedestal. The ATM had been broken into and the money removed. The truck was later found to have been stolen from Henderson, KY.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, the Vanderburgh County Commissioners, and the Vanderburgh County Council are pleased to announce that the Flock Safety system is coming to our County.

Four Vanderburgh County Jail inmates recently graduated from Aramark’s IN2WORK Culinary program.

 A confinement officer assigned to Housing Unit B1 observed an inmate in distress. The officer found the inmate unresponsive in the cell. Additional officers, along with jail medical staff, were summoned to the housing unit. An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) was deployed, and officers began CPR. Medics from the Evansville Fire Department and AMR arrived to assist. At 09:45 AM, medics ceased resuscitation efforts upon orders from a physician.

This Halloween the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office will be closely monitoring the residential areas of Vanderburgh County outside of the Evansville City limits. Sheriff’s deputies will be watching for unsafe driving as well as mischievous and suspicious activity.
