SUBJECT: Deputies Arrest Suspect from recent Pursuit

Zachary Tyler Young was developed as the suspect who led deputies on a brief pursuit on 01/04/2023 that resulted in deputies terminating the pursuit. Shortly after the pursuit was terminated, Young’s vehicle was later found wrecked and abandoned off the roadway in the area of West Virginia and Harmony Way. Multiple plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine were recovered near the vehicle. The combined weight of the suspected methamphetamine was 169.5 Grams. A glass pipe, commonly used to ingest methamphetamine, was also located in the vehicle. It was also determined that Young was operating on a suspended driver’s license. Deputies and Evansville Police Officers searched for Young at the time, but he was not located.

On 01/09/2023, detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Joint Narcotics Task Force observed Young as being the passenger in a vehicle in the area of West Delaware and North Fifth Avenue. Deputies and Evansville Police Officers made contact with Young and he was arrested for the below listed charges without incident. During the search of Young’s person at the time of arrest, a small amount of suspected marijuana was located. Young was issued a citation for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
