SUBJECT: Fatality Crash University Parkway and Hogue Rd

On February 5, 2023 at approximately 2200 hours deputies with the Vanderburgh County
Sheriff’s office were dispatched to an accident with injuries near the intersection
of University Parkway and Hogue Rd.
The crash involved a passenger vehicle and a moped. The first deputy arrived on scene at approximately 2205 hours and
found the moped rider to be severely injured. He called for further assistance and
began attempting life saving measures.
Along with deputies, Perry Township Fire and AMR responded to the scene.
The injured subject was treated at the scene until he could be transported to
Deaconess Midtown where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the passenger car was not injured, but was later transported to a local hospital for a chemical test in accordance with Indiana law regarding fatal crashes.
This is an ongoing investigation. The coroner’s office will release the name of the deceased subject
once appropriate notifications have been made.
