Sheriff Dave Wedding presented Indiana Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) scholarship certificates to two local students this morning. Mr. Lane Buente and Mr. Christopher Tanner both received a $500.00 scholarship award. Lane and Chris were among forty students from around the state to receive scholarship awards from the ISA this year.
Lane Buente is a graduate of Reitz High School and will be attending Vincennes University this fall. Lane is also president of our local Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post. Christopher Tanner is a junior at the University of Evansville and is majoring in Criminal Justice. Both Lane and Chris plan on a career in Law Enforcement.
The Indiana Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Program is designed to recognize the academic achievements and total development of high school seniors and college students. Selection criteria includes the student’s scholastic achievement, leadership ability, extra-curricular activity, initiative and citizenship.
