In November of 2014 detectives from the Evansville Police Department assigned to the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force began conducting controlled buys of crack cocaine from Mr. Obie Davis and several of his close associates.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Davis and Mr. Andre “Red” Jones were bringing in large amounts of crack cocaine for distribution within the Evansville area. Controlled buys were conducted on Mr. Davis, Mr. Jones and Ms. Latara Graves. Investigators discovered that Mr. Davis and Mr. Jones utilized several locations to deal crack cocaine. Search warrants and arrest warrants were then obtained.

On July 10, 2015 detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Indiana State Police, Evansville Police Department and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple state search and arrest warrants. During the service of search warrants 100 grams of crack cocaine and two stolen handguns were seized.

As a result this investigation the following suspects were arrested (although more arrests are anticipated):

Andre Lamont “Red” Jones (pictured above), 33, of Evansville. Dealing Cocaine as a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon as a Level 4 Felony (2 counts), Dealing Cocaine as a Level 5 Felony, Theft of a Firearm as a Level 6 Felony (2 counts), Failure to Appear

Latara Denise Graves (pictured above), 28, of Evansville. Dealing Cocaine as a Level 3 Felony, Dealing Cocaine as a Level 5 Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance as a Level 6 Felony, Neglect of a Dependent as a Level 6 Felony

Benjamin Frank Miles IV (pictured above), 30, of Memphis, TN. Dealing Cocaine as a Level 2 Felony, Dealing Scheduled Substance as a Level 4, Possession of a Legend Drug Smoking Device as a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Marijuana as a Class A Misdemeanor, Legend Drug Common Nuisance as a Class B Misdemeanor
