Overnight Crash Results in Injury to Driver

On March 04, 2015 at 09:47pm the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle in a creek near Meskar Park Drive and W. Diamond Avenue. A black 2002 Chevrolet Silverado being operated by Mr. Stephen Anthony Morris had been northbound on Mesker Park Dr when the driver lost control of his vehicle in snowy conditions. The vehicle struck the end of a guard rail and then a concrete culvert before coming to rest in a ditch.

Mr. Morris was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained injuries to his head. Mr. Morris was transported to Deaconess Hospital via ambulance. Mr. Morris’ 16-year-old son was a passenger in the vehicle and was wearing his seatbelt. Mr. Morris’ son was not injured.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage as a result of the crash. Due to poor weather conditions at the time, the vehicle was removed from the ditch the next day.

The crash remains under investigation as alcohol was found to be a factor in the crash.
