SUBJECT: Fatality Crash in Northern Vanderburgh County

On 02-02-2023, at 610 PM, deputies responded to the area of 11650 Sawmill Drive for a medical assist.
Upon arrival, the Scott Township Fire Department located a pedestrian that had been struck by a
vehicle.
The pedestrian sustained serious bodily injuries as a result of the crash. The preliminary
investigation revealed that the suspect was operating a Chevrolet van and struck the
pedestrian with their vehicle. The female victim was transported to the hospital by the Scott Township Fire Department
where she died as a result of her injuries.
This incident is pending further investigation by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section (CIS). The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased subject on a later date.
