SUBJECT: Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting in Northwest Vanderburgh County

On July 27th2022, at 3:06 PM, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 5930 Maggie Valley Rd. The caller advised that a male had entered the trailer and shot a male occupant inside of the residence. The caller said the shooter then fled on foot. The caller attempted CPR however, when deputies and EMS arrived, the victim was found to be deceased. One of the responding deputies observed a person matching the description of the suspect getting into a vehicle not far from the scene. The vehicle was stopped on Mill Rd near Kratzville Rd. The female driver and the suspect were transported to the Sheriff’s Operations Center. It was determined that the female driver had been asked by the suspect for a ride and was not involved. The suspect is currently being interviewed by Sheriff’s detectives An autopsy will be conducted by the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office tomorrow morning. The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released at the appropriate times.
