Sobriety Checkpoint Results for Monday, July 03, 2017

The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Traffic Safety Partnership conducted a sobriety checkpoint on July 03, 2017 near the intersection of N. First Avenue and Lohoff Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Department and Indiana State Excise Police participated.

A total of 53 vehicles were diverted from N. First Avenue into the checkpoint. The checkpoint ran from 11:00pm to 2:00am. A total of three (3) motorists were arrested, either after entering the checkpoint or after being stopped for a traffic violation before the checkpoint.

Funding for local sobriety checkpoint operations is provided by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Joseph Lee Cleary (pictured above), 38, of Evansville. Failure to Appear (FTA) on charges of: Resisting Law Enforcement, Driving while License Suspended, Disregarding Stop Sign.
