Sheriff’s Office Increases Patrols for Thanksgiving Travel Safety

Deputies Arrest Suspect Waving Hatchets

On Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:41 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of N. Saint Joseph Ave. and Allens Ln. in reference to a male subject reportedly waving two hatchets around and talking to himself. Witnesses advised that prior the the arrival of deputies, the subject was screaming at people in the area and had walked out in front of traffic at one point and stuck a vehicle.

Back to School Traffic Safety Enforcement 

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has stepped up traffic enforcement around area schools and bus routes to help make sure this school year gets off to a safe start.

2024 Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair Begins Today

The 103rd annual Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair gets underway today, Monday, July 22, 2024. With shows, music, rides, races, pageants, contests, exhibits and food the 4-H fair truly has something for everyone. An estimated 45,000 people are expected to attend this year.

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Infant Death

On Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10:25 AM, Shane Hedrick called 911 to report he had checked in on his son, whom was sleeping in his crib, and found he was dead. Hedrick attempted CPR while EMS and Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence, located in northwest Vanderburgh County. Arriving EMS and McCutchanville Volunteer Fire Department personnel took over life-saving measures but were unsuccessful in reviving the infant.
