On Monday, July 13, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office recognized inmates who successfully completed the IN2WORK program during a graduation ceremony held at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
The ceremony honored participants who completed the workforce development program, which is designed to establish a path to success by providing training and resources that prepare individuals for employment in the food service industry upon their release.
Graduates were recognized alongside their families, with representatives from Aramark and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office in attendance to celebrate their accomplishments. The graduates selected an Italian-themed meal for the event, and several participants shared personal remarks about their experiences in the program and the impact it had on their lives.
Programs like IN2WORK play an important role in reducing recidivism by providing participants with valuable job skills, industry certifications, and opportunities for long-term success after release.
“Recidivism reduction programs like this provide individuals with a clear opportunity to break the cycle of criminal behavior,” said Sheriff Noah Robinson. “In addition to gaining job skills, they also are now qualified for academic scholarships, which allows them to continue their education if they choose to do so.”
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has maintained a longstanding partnership with Aramark Corporation, which has provided food service at the Vanderburgh County Jail since 1977. Together, the organizations continue to invest in programs that equip participants with practical skills, build confidence, and create opportunities for a successful future.
