DATE: June 26, 2025
SUBJECT: Deputies Arrest Registered Sex Offender in Connection with Missing Juvenile Case
RELEASE NUMBER: 2025-NR-0626B
CONTACT: Major Matt Corn
AUTHORITY: Sheriff Noah Robinson

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is releasing additional information following the June 26, 2025, recovery of a missing juvenile and arrest of a wanted felon at an Evansville hotel.

Deputies initially responded to a report of a missing juvenile on June 21, 2025, in the 5800 block of Rockford Drive. Through investigative leads, deputies were directed to The One Life Hotel on North US Highway 41. There, they located the juvenile hidden inside the ceiling of a hotel room and took an adult male into custody without incident.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Gamble, who was found to have multiple active felony warrants at the time of his arrest.

Upon further investigation, deputies confirmed that Gamble is currently classified as an Offender Against Children and is required to register annually for life. This classification stems from a 2016 conviction in Spencer County for rape and child molesting. As a result of that conviction, Gamble was wanted for violating the conditions of his parole and for removing his GPS monitoring device.

Gamble remains in custody at the Vanderburgh County Jail and was later charged with failing to register as a sex offender as well as other offenses. Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.

Suspect Information:

Christopher Gamble, 26 year old male, Evansville, IN

Charges Filed:

  • Count I: Assisting a Criminal
  • Count II: Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
  • Count III: Parole Violation
  • Count IV: Failure to Register as Sex Offender or Violent Offender
