Sheriff’s Office Mourns the Passing of Longtime Merit Board Member Tim Klingler

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is saddened to report the passing of Sheriff’s Merit Board President Tim Klingler, who died after a long illness.

Tim Klingler was a dedicated public servant and a steadfast supporter of the Sheriff’s Office for more than three decades. He served on the Sheriff’s Merit Board for over 32 years, where his steady leadership and legal expertise helped shape the careers of countless deputies.

Prior to his board service, Tim volunteered as a Reserve Deputy, exemplifying his commitment to law enforcement and public safety.

A skilled attorney with Jackson Kelly PLLC, Tim specialized in Insurance and Manufacturing Industry Worker’s Compensation Law. He brought that same professionalism and passion for justice to his role on the Merit Board.

Tim taught search and seizure law to every new class of incoming deputies, ensuring that each generation of deputies entered service grounded in a clear understanding of constitutional principles.

Outside of his legal and law enforcement contributions, Tim was a devoted member of the community. He served as president of the Parish Council at St. Boniface Catholic Church, where his leadership and faith left a lasting impact.

“Tim Klingler was more than a board member, he was a mentor, teacher, and friend to everyone at this agency,” said Sheriff Noah Robinson. “His legacy of service, humility, and dedication to justice will never be forgotten.”

Our thoughts are with Tim’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
